27th February 2010. Birling Gap
An hour's sea-watch in blustery conditions produced another 3 Med. Gulls, 14 Brent Geese, & 2 Common Scoters.

21st February, 2010. Birling Gap.
Sea Watch 8.30 to 10.00 (1.5 hrs). Weather: Overcast with pulses of squally rain.Wind SSW force 4-5.
Brent 6E,
Scoter 4 E,
Red Throated Diver 9 E & 1 W,
Great Crested Grebe 5 E & 1 on sea,
Fulmar 15,
Gannet 30 E all adults & 2 W both immatures.
Cormorant 1 E in breeding plumage.
Curlew 1 E,
Common Gull 30 over the fields,
Med. Gull 3 adults E,
Kittiwake 8 E,
Razorbill 3 E,
Rock Pipit 1,
Jackdaw Flock of 50 flew over Birling.

4th February, 2010. Beachy Head.
Went with Doreen to do a sea-watch the first for the year. Commenced at 07.40 and finished at 09.20. Overcast morning with rain, wind SW 1-2 becoming S. Mist out to sea. No real movement:
8E Gannets, 7E Kittiwakes, 6 Fulmars loafing, 6 Red Throated Divers on the sea & 2 W., 2 Razorbills, & 1 Common Scoter E. Doreen had 2 Peregrines fly over the car park at Birling.
Quick look in Belle Toute Wood but very quiet with a single Fieldfare in the field opposite.
