6 October 2013 Head Fine sunny and hot. N-W 1

A very frustrating day. We met up with RJF and JK at Birling and then covered all the Birling area including the Birling to Belle Tout loop when we met up with RK who advised us that 2 Bearded Tits were present between Hotel Garden and Shooters Bottom and had departed NW at 10.00 am. RES had a brief view of a Yellow-browed Warbler in the Old Trapping Area which departed very quickly and finally Tony Cook found a very elusive Red-breasted Flycatcher near the Hotel Garden which only showed briefly to a few observers. Its days like this when you ask yourself is it all worth while.
BHRG were ringing in Whitbread Hollow and the birds ringed are shown in brackets.
