2 April 2014 Beachy Head Overcast with pollution NE 2-4

We sea-watched from 06.50-08.50 and were joined by a number of other observers. Unfortunately, the pollution levels were high and with a cool NE breeze, only a small movement was recorded with the highlight being a fine summer plumage Black-necked Grebe on the sea.
Birders then spread out checking various sites but again mainly just a scattering of Chiffchaffs were seen and no diurnal migration logged. Two observers checked Holywell area for yesterdays reported Serins but without success.
