14th August, 2011. Beachy Head. Overcast becoming sunny & warm.SW 0-1

We met up with RJF & JK at Birling and covered virtually all the usual sites on the Headland including walking the rough field, we also saw GG, RK & RKH.

RDME was ringing in Whitbread Hollow. As he was there on his own he had only set less than half the normal number of mist-nets which would normally be set. Even so he was very busy, and if he had set the usual number of mist-nets, he considers that he may very well have caught 300+ birds and therefore his numbers are very conservative with Whitethroat, Willow Warblers and Reed Warbler numbers would have been considerably higher.
