14 Aug 2014 Beachy Head Overcast with a light shower at dawn and by 10.15 and 11.30. Wind SW 1-2 gusting to 4.

RDME was ringing during the morning in Whitbread Hollow and LP also covered Whitbread Hollow and Cow Gap. RHC reported a fall of migrants in Hodcombe. Unfortunately, no over regular birders was in the position to watch any of the other Headland sites.

There was a considerable fall of Whithethroats this morning with good numbers of other common night migrants. Probably our first good fall of the Autumn, and if the other Headland sites had been watched these numbers would almost certainly have been increased.

The following are the combined figures for the sites covered, and birds ringed are as usual shown in brackets.

Sparrowhawk 1
Tawny Owl 1
Tree Pipit 3
Nightingale 3+
Common Redstart 1
Song Thrush 1
