19 Aug 2014 Beachy Head Overcast and cool becoming sunny SW-W 2 to increasing to NW 4-5

RDME worked all the usual Headland sites including Cornish Track and visited Hodcombe, and LP birded in the Holywell area, during the morning and visited Cow Gap and the Hollow during the evening.
Just small numbers of migrants present and no diurnal migration recorded with hirundines numbers again almost non-existent. The highlight was a Montagu's Harrier moving NW low over Birling at 07.00. which by its size it was considered to be a juv. male . Also a hobby was seen on the Headland.
