10th October, 2011. Beachy Head Overcast, mild W 6-7

With a strong wind blowing we decided to sea-watch this morning and were joined by RDME. We sea-watched from 07.10-11.10 and recorded the following:

Diver sp. 1 E

Gannet 200+ (170 E)

Brent Goose 65 W

Common Scoter 17 chiefly W

Goosander 1 female very close W

Kestrel 1 coming in off the sea.

Merlin 1 E out to sea.

Curlew 2 W

Arctic Skua 8 E

Skua sp. 2 E

Bonxie 61 E ( A new day record for the Head).

Black Headed Gull 80 feeding in the surf off Birling.

Commic Tern 15

Auk sp 2 E

Swallow 3 W out to sea

House Martin 10 W out to sea.
