3rd October, 2011 Beachy Head. Fine warm & sunny S-SW1-2

We met up with PN at Shooters Bottom and between us covered all the sites on the Head. Also saw GG briefly.
RDME was trapping in Whitbread Hollow and the following are our combined totals with birds ringed in brackets:

JE had been trapping moths overnight in the vicinity of Belle Tout wood and showed us a Flame Brocade moth which he had trapped.

Siskin - Several groups heard flying over, but none seen.

Flame Brocade at Belle Tout wood.
Formerly resident in Sussex, becoming extinct in the late 19th Century,
the species is now resident only in the Channel Islands and elsewhere it
is only an immigrant.
