The Lane at Birling Gap.
Spotted Flycatcher in Shooters Bottom.
Arrived with Doreen to heavy rain which delayed our start to 07.30 hrs. Weather became drier humid and calm. Birded the Birling area but only a few migrants seen and no grounded migrants from the heavy early morning rain. Shooters Bottom was better with good numbers of Common Whitethroats and a Spotted Flycatcher. Also a few migrants present in the Hotel Garden. Met up with Ron Knight briefly in the Old Trapping Area. Decided not to walk into Cow Gap and instead had a look around Belle Toute Gully. Again no Swifts or Hirundines seen during the morning. Migrants seen:

Lesser Whitethroat 3
Common Whitethroat 54
Garden Warbler 2
Willow Warbler 16
