Arrived with DC at 06.10 hrs to a fine sunny clear calm morning. As we started to walk up the lane at Birling, Willow Warblers were flicking in the tamarisk bushes. A good overnight fall of migrants had occurred. We met up with RKH & RES at the Old Trapping Area, and RDME was in the Hollow with the mist-nets being opened and had ringed a nice selection of Warblers including about 30 Willows and several Reed & Sedge and 3 Gardens. I have not included these numbers with our own numbers listed below. We covered virtually the whole area in 5 hours, and as we were about to leave, Peter & Miriam Netherway joined us in Belle Toute wood and they had seen a Wheatear at Birling. Roger & Bob also let us know that they had found 2 Small Blues in Shooters Bottom.
